Who am I?
I’m Karen, a person‑centred counsellor based in Paisley. I offer a warm, steady, and grounded space where you can talk openly and explore whatever you’re carrying, at a pace that feels right for you. My aim is to create a relationship where you feel safe, understood, and genuinely heard.
I believe that counselling works best when it feels like a real human connection — one built on trust, empathy, and acceptance. You don’t need to arrive with everything figured out. You can come exactly as you are.
My Approach
I work from a person‑centred perspective, which means:
• you lead the way
• you choose what feels safe to explore
• you set the pace
• you’re met with empathy, honesty, and acceptance
There is no judgement, pressure, or expectation. My role is to walk alongside you as you make sense of your thoughts, feelings, and experiences.
I am LGBTQ+ affirming and neurodiversity‑affirming, and I welcome clients of all identities and backgrounds. I aim to offer a space where you can show up fully as yourself.
Why I Do This Work
People often carry more than they realise — stress, grief, self‑doubt, old wounds, or simply the weight of trying to cope. I became a counsellor because I believe deeply in the power of being truly heard. When someone feels safe enough to speak openly, something shifts. New understanding becomes possible. Healing becomes possible.
It’s a privilege to sit with people in those moments.
My Training and Experience
I am a qualified counsellor and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I work with adults aged 18 and over, offering both in‑person sessions in Paisley and online sessions across the UK.
My experience includes supporting people with:
• anxiety and overwhelm
• grief and loss
• stress and burnout
• relationship and family difficulties
• identity and self‑worth
• the impact of past experiences
• general emotional distress or uncertainty
What It’s Like to Work With Me
Clients often describe me as calm, steady, and easy to talk to. I offer a gentle pace and a grounded presence, giving you space to explore without feeling rushed or pushed. You’re welcome to bring whatever feels important — big or small, clear or unclear.
You don’t need to prepare anything. You can simply arrive as you are.
