Who am I?
Hi, I’m Karen (she/her). I’m a BACP registered counsellor working with adults, and I offer counselling online for anywhere in the UK and in person from Paisley, Scotland.
If you’re new to counselling, you might be feeling unsure about what to expect or whether it’s the right step for you. That’s completely understandable. My aim is to offer a warm, confidential space where you can talk openly and feel supported, without pressure or judgement.
You don’t need to know what to say or where to start. We’ll take things at a pace that feels comfortable for you, and we’ll focus on what feels most important in the moment. My role is to help you feel listened to and understood, and to support you in making sense of what’s been going on for you.
I work with people experiencing things like anxiety, low mood, depression, burnout, trauma, and loss or grief. Everyone’s experiences are different, and there’s no “right” way to be in counselling.
My way of working is person-centred, which means the relationship we build is at the heart of the work. I believe you are the expert in your own life, and I won’t tell you what to do or try to fix you. Instead, I’ll walk alongside you with care, curiosity, and respect as you explore your thoughts and feelings.
I’m a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP 01008397) and work in line with their Ethical Framework. I hold an HND in Counselling, along with additional qualifications in addiction counselling and social care.
I’m committed to ongoing learning and regularly take part in training and professional development. I’ve also completed training on working therapeutically with trans (including non-binary) people, and I’m committed to offering an inclusive, respectful, and affirming space.
I offer counselling both online and in person from Paisley, Renfrewshire, Scotland.
